Industrial Mining Energy Storage Project

Location: Lapland, Finland

Equipment: 10ft Container System

Description: In this project, a 10ft container energy storage system was deployed as an off-grid power source. The PCS operated in VF (Voltage-Frequency) mode to establish grid-forming control. The key challenge involved handling sudden load increase/decrease from heavy engineering machinery.

Given the instability of the local grid, the system adopted a unique operational strategy:

Long-term low-power charging from the grid

Short-term high-power discharging to meet load demands

System Topology & Advantages:

The designed topology significantly enhances operational stability. Even during grid fault, the PCS can utilize residual battery energy to provide stable power output to the engineering loads. Crucially, the output-side PCS operates exclusively in VF mode, enabling superior voltage and frequency regulation on the AC bus during load fluctuations. This ensures unmatched system stability and reliability.
